From Open Perpetuum

If you ever wish to see a Nian look puzzled, observe one examining a Symbiont. No less massive than the Riveler, and no less effective at its job, the Symbiont still ultimately spends a great deal of time in what humans would term as “picking flowers.” It is not unusual for a Symbiont to pause in their mass-harvesting of huge quantities of flora to regard a particular flower or plant with a fascination, carefully avoiding damaging it, and then moving on with its job. To other Nians, this is yet further proof of the strange, alien, and generally bizarre nature of the Nian Industrials.

Common uses

Symbiont, like it's cousin Riveler is the ultimate platform, except for harvesting instead of mining. Unlike Riveler, it does not posess the bonus to armor resistances, making it a slightly less popular choice for a logistics bot. They are however, equally as capable both in slots and accumulator.

MK2 bot is an improved version of a normal bot. Typically, it recieves additional bonuses, better fitting space, 50% more cargo and slightly higher speed when equipped. MK2 bots also require at least level 1 of Hi-Tech Robot Specialist extension and recieve additional bonuses from this extension

Aside from statistical advantages, Symbiont MK2 gets a 1% bonus to harvested amount and +1 head and leg slots.
